# Beta scope and risks

The beta tests the core DTF experience on **Base mainnet**, using real assets. It focuses on creating, joining and operating **Index, Spot and Perpetual DTFs**. Perpetual trading uses Hyperliquid.

## Included in the beta scope

* DTF discovery and supported deposit/withdrawal flows.
* Manager creation, review and deployment flows.
* Basket management and rebalancing for Index DTFs.
* Supported Spot and Perpetual trading actions.
* Position, performance and transaction tracking where available.
* Simple, team-administered bDXP campaigns when announced.

Availability depends on the deployed DTF, supported assets and enabled app controls. A documentation example is not a live listing.

## Deferred

Production DXP issuance schedules, staking and gDXP, revenue-sharing products, buybacks, token-based manager tiers and community governance are outside this beta scope. Earlier concepts for verifier rewards, Yield Yodas, Root DTFs and restaking are not beta features.

The core team retains administrative control during the beta. Do not assume permissionless deployment or decentralized governance.

## Risks and practical limits

| Risk | What it means |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Market and strategy risk | A DTF can lose money; target returns are not guarantees. |
| Contract and integration risk | Bugs or failures can affect assets and operations. |
| Manager and admin control | Strategy execution and some lifecycle actions depend on authorized operators. |
| Liquidity and execution | Slippage, shallow markets and failed transactions can affect entry and exit. |
| Valuation | A displayed NAV or quote can become stale; some operations can pause until valuation is refreshed. |
| Perpetuals | Leverage, liquidation, funding and venue issues can materially affect returns. |
| Settlement | Collateral transfers, pending claims and safety controls can delay withdrawals. |

Configured lock periods, paused/frozen states and transaction limits may prevent an action. Check the individual DTF and the app's current status.

There is no general guarantee of principal protection, insurance or instant redemption. Review [fees](/fees-and-costs.md) and start with an amount appropriate for testing.
